Keynote Speaker: Judge Helena Heath-Roland
Appointed in 2005, Judge Heath-Roland is the
first female of African descent to serve as Albany City Court Judge in
its 321 year history. Judge Heath-Roland graduated from New York
University School of Law in 1987 and has over 20 years of legal
experience. Judge Heath-Roland is currently Co-Chair of the Diversity
and Gender Fairness Committee of the Capital District Women's Bar
Association, and Chair of the Youth and Law Committee of the Capital
District Black and Hispanic Bar Association.

Theresa Ward, Ph.D.
Dean of the Department of Literacy and Special
Education, The College of Saint Rose
Terri
is an expert in Curriculum and Instruction obtaining her degree from
the University of Central Florida. Her concentration in the classroom
is in whole-school reform; co-teaching and collaboration as it relates
to inclusive education and diverse learners. Terri has published
multiple texts and presentations in support of students with a range of
learning capacities to severely disabled.

Lauren Vaczi, Student
The College of Saint Rose
Lauren Vaczi is 22 years old and currently
attending The College of Saint Rose. During her freshman year
in March 2004, she was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and
forced to withdraw from school to undergo treatment. She has
since earned a Degree in Childhood Education and is pursuing a
Masters in Educational Psychology, despite what many believed
impossible.

Cheryl Fidelman
PWI Editor in Chief
Cheryl is an actress from New York City who
has performed in films and on stage with several luminaries,
and is a nationally recognized Poet. Cheryl received an
International Shakespeare Scholar Certificate from Cambridge University
and is currently working on her one-woman show. Additionally, her
passion is giving to others and helping children to succeed.
